What a fabulous dinner! It is rare for us to go out on a Saturday – usually Friday is our “weekend treat” night – but we had other commitments last night, so we decided to make an evening of it and make reservations at the Saffron Grill tonight. We shared four starters and each had our own entree. Our shared dishes were escargot, octopus salad, scallops, and Caprese salad. Phil and I both had bucatini with pork cheek, and Ben had steak with a sherry cream sauce and gorgonzola mashed potatoes. He declared it all “outrageous,” and when asked what his favorite dish was, answered after some contemplation, “the snails, the octopus, the scallops, the balsamic salad (Caprese) and the steak.” Literally everything. Can’t argue with that!
