Today, our focus was tying up loose food ends. I know how lucky we are to have plenty of food, and I want to make sure we are managing our inventory properly before we go out for fresh supplies.
Right out of college, I went to teach as a volunteer on the Hopi Reservation in Arizona. I was about 90 miles away from groceries, and I had a $50 per month stipend, so I got used to constructing very intentional grocery lists.
While I certainly don’t have to live on that edge now, I’m sure that this experience, along with my frugal upbringing, has made me a better “food manager” than I would otherwise be.

We filled the remaining pocket dough with kielbasa, onion and peppers.This lone mango tells the sad story of today’s only food management defeat. RIP.When the going gets tough, the tough crack up while peeling a banana. We know these are grim times, but maybe you can think of us as Corona Lite.
