Ben is a HUGE lobster fan, as you may know from previous posts. When he was given an extremely generous graduation gift card for the gourmet mail order company, Goldbelly, he didn’t hesitate in making his selection. Well, he lingered on wings awhile, but other than that, it wasn’t a competition. He wanted lobster rolls. He fixated on the picture that came with the entire lobster roll kit, but since I knew I had butter, and could buy rolls and a jar of pickle spears at Wegmans, I figured we could get by with just the lobster, and figure out the rest on our own. Even typing the phrase, “we could get by with just the lobster,” sounds a little absurd, but it was a gift!
Ben has a friend living in New England, and they speak quite often about lobster rolls. I’m glad Ben spent some time anticipating these, because consumption time was fleeting. After serving him his second lobster roll, I walked across the kitchen, pontificating on the virtue of savoring delicious food. Upon returning to the table, maybe 11 seconds later, I saw his plate was empty. I guess his way works, too.
I love Lobster too. Next week is lobster week at the Herdic House. Maybe my chance to get some. Yours looked lovely. Hope you all enjoyed it!
