We did not go out to eat tonight. It was a compromise, of sorts, as Ben always wants wings, burgers and fries. We had delivery from New China Royal, and it was very satisfying. Ben reports that he liked everything “except the skinny white things that taste like veggies.” We believe he meant water chestnuts, or possibly chicken that was not breaded and deep fat fried, but we note that he cleaned his plate anyway. We all find the dumplings and the accompanying dipping sauce to be the best in town.
Sometimes we need to take a break form our Ben-centric Friday nights out. Sometimes you, the reader, need a break from pictures of our wing-smeared son beaming over fries and a burger. Sometimes we all need time to reflect on whether the word “sorry” growled through clenched teeth constitutes an authentic apology, or if what’s required is Chinese delivery penance before seeking next Friday’s burger and fries fortune.
THIS…. Made… My…Day….♥️ With the short “preview” earlier today-(almost like when I’d read the bookflaps of a book that I thought I might like,, and it would pull me in right from the start ) I couldn’t WAIT to see how it was going to end…? Thank you for , “The End” of the story! LOVED it!!!
Though using Chinese delivery as a punitive measure is a questionable parenting technique (on Chinese New Year, no less!) sometimes with Ben, you have to do what works. As you know, he complied belatedly with the letter of the law, but definitely not the spirit. He assures us that he will straighten up and fly right next week! I love talking to you at work about all our family adventures. Thank you for reading the blog!!!
