This week we made it to Moon & Raven early enough to get a table with little waiting. Ben always includes this place in his list of suggestions when he is lobbying for going out to eat. What’s not to love? The atmosphere is perfect, and the food is great.
Ben got the fish and chips, though he needed a great deal of reassurance that “chips” are fries in an Irish pub. Even so, when it came time to order, he was very specific about his expectations. “I’ll have the fish and fries, please, and a salad instead of cold slop.”Phil and I both got the Guinness Pie. Perfect for a cold night!As usual, when asked about his favorite part of the meal, he listed everything he ate, but he did mention the crispy fish twice, so it made an impression!

Omgosh, what huge portions they served! When I was visiting my youngest daughter in London, a must for them, was for me to visit a traditional Fish and Chips pub, and what Ben had, looks exactly like what I had, had! (MY only problem with the meal was in my HEAD. When served, the fish looked liked it had been caught and fried mid-swim, and I couldn’t get past that in my head to thoroughly enjoy my meal). Haha I’m SO glad BEN enjoyed his!!! What a cutie, Liz! LOVE these critiques!!! Keep em coming!!! Have a great weekend!
The portions are huge! (Though to be fair, all of our dishes had the “wee” option – we just all went for the entree size!) When we were in Thailand, we were served fish with the eyeballs still in!
Fish and Chips is one of Elizabeth’s new found favorites as well!
