We have a long and storied past with the Crippled Bear, and all of it is good. Years ago (like maybe 15) I was scared to go here. Phil kept saying we should give it a try. Finally, he and his colleague went for lunch and came back victorious. “It’s totally safe! Nobody even threatened to beat us up!” I looked Phil up and down upon his return and asked,”Is that how you went?’ He asked if the chinos were a problem. I said, “Well, maybe, but did you know your polo shirt is on inside-out?”
It wasn’t long after this that our family started eating here regularly. After just one visit, they remembered months later what we had ordered, and they have been offering this kind of personalized service ever since.
When Sophia was in middle school, our favorite waitress asked, “We’re wearing make-up now, are we?” Ben wanted to have his birthday party here. We often went here after his soccer games, which were held out that direction. It is the place that everyone in the family is on board with any time.
We are amazed at the awesome service and food they are still offering in these restricted times.
We are still making the dipping sauce for sweet potato fries that we had there years ago with you. The server kindly told us it was just equal parts ranch dressing, barbecue sauce and honey.
I had forgotten about that! Thanks for the reminder!
