We knew the snow was coming, and it was great that this was a scheduled day off for me. Ben and I got up early, as is our custom, and by 8:00, we went out to take it on. Phil messed up his back, probably taking all of the patio furniture into the shed by himself the other day, but in any case, he was incapacitated, so Ben and I were Team Snow Removal. The snow blower would not start, so it was just a boy and his mom and some shovels. I’d like to take a moment to tell you that it is a really long driveway.
See Ben at the end? Add another 20 feet to account for the camera’s location, and you’ll have the idea that we had a lot of work to do. Ben had given it a go, but he tends to have a zig-zag method of shoveling, so it was an interesting morning.A couple hours later, we had conquered it all!Ben angled for a BBQ sandwich lunch, which wasn’t a stretch, because that was our dinner last night, and there were leftovers. However, we told him he could have that or a “special lunch” and he (obviously) opted for the special lunch. Enter the pizzadilla. Step one: make a radial cut in a giant tortilla.Step 2: Fill the 6:00 to 9:00 quadrant with pesto and Parmesan cheese from the jar (“Shakey” cheese, because you shake it. Duh.)9:00-12:00 = pizza sauce and cut up meatballs. This quadrant is the most flexible, and all three of us had different versions. This one is a schmear of garden veggie cream cheese topped with artichoke hearts and hot Italian peppers. The last quadrant is just mozzarella. Now, the magic. Fold the bottom left quadrant up.Fold the left to the right. The final fold.Warm it a pan with a little butter or oil, and you’ve got yourself a “special” lunch. And finally, we, here at Ben’s Day Wednesday, recommend that you have some hot chocolate with a scoop of frozen Oreo/vanilla ice cream to cap off a day of working hard outside and, most likely, inside, too. Cheers!
Looks delicious!
It was great!
